#wind

The wind shifted and I caught her scent on the breeze. I shook my head and turned towards the entrance. She gracefully walked into the room, unarmed, and alone. I shifted my weight to one leg and crossed my arms. She greeted me with open arms.

“Of course. I knew you’d come around sooner or later. I trust you know that you’ll get nowhere with me.”

“Please, hear me out. The people are tired, poor, and hungry. I need you to listen to reason. I need you to speak to the king.” I swiped my hand in front of her.

“No, sister, you will not see your revolution. You will only see the inside of a jail cell.”
